DJ Flash, born Ronald Hamilton, is a Jersey City DJ from Park Street who is widely credited in the 2006 WizTV documentary as the originator of the city's mixtape scene and was introduced on camera as a legend.

He began DJing at age seven, learning by convincing older neighborhood DJs including Stranger D to let him spin -- a start that placed him at the founding generation of Jersey City hip-hop.
He practiced all five elements of DJing including beat juggling, scratching, and mixing, and describes pre-sampler production built with two turntables and two tape decks, a workflow typical of the late 1970s and early 1980s park jam era.
He was part of a five-DJ juggle-battle circle from his block, crediting peers including Jamaican Jeff and E Rock as early inspirations, and names Wimpy B as his big brother in the craft.
He also credits a generation that includes Stranger D, Fresh Jeff, and Storming Norman (later moving with Wu-Tang's circle), placing the Jersey City scene in direct connection with one of hip-hop's defining crews.

By his own account, given to this archive in 2026, the 1950s Jersey City R&B star Roy Hamilton was his great-great-grandfather, and the late Jersey City rapper Riggamortis was his first cousin; he records as DJ Flash Hamilton.
