Jersey club is a Newark sound. The style grew out of Baltimore club in Newark's DJ scene in the early 2000s, and its originators and leading names are Brick City artists. Jersey City's part is smaller and later: the city's DJs carried the sound into Hudson County, blended it into the mixtape tradition, and produced its own club records and documentaries. This page documents only what the archive can source.
The clearest Jersey City thread is Mista Quietman, Antwan Anderson, whose SoundCloud catalog of club loops and remixes dates to 2012 and whose The 201 High School Anthem is a Jersey City spin-off of DJ Sliink's High School Anthem, shouting out Lincoln, Ferris, Dickinson and Snyder high schools. Wiztv, DJ Wizard, produced the Jersey Club Blends mixtape series (Vol. 3, 2017), blends with DJ Sliink, and as of 2026 is producing a new WizTV Jersey Club Documentary. DJ Swill B was the featured artist on Bandmanrill's Jiggy in Jersey with Sha EK (2022), from the album Club Godfather.
The older mixtape generation meets the club era in DJ E Double, the Double Platinum Entertainment founder resident at Rendezvous, Lollipop and Taste since the mid 1990s, and in the current club DJs DJ Flamez, DJ Rydeout and DJ J-Money. For the wider story of the city's DJs, from park jams through the 201 style of doubled drums and stacked blends, see the Jersey City DJs page.
An entry appears here when its documented genres include Jersey club. The archive does not claim the genre for Jersey City. For Newark's record, the city's own documentation is the place to start; the Jersey club community radio station at jerseyclubradio.com covers the scene statewide.
