The Chill Town J.C. Hip-Hop Documentary is a community-made film directed and edited by Champagne that gathers first-person interviews with the pioneers of Jersey City's hip-hop scene — the city long nicknamed "Chilltown."

It traces the culture from its early-1980s park-jam and block-party roots through the crews, DJs, and MCs who built the scene, including Sweet Slick and Slide, the Tranquilizing Three, and Positively Black, with the Chiba Crew and others in the mix.
On-camera voices include DJ Stranger Dee, DJ Wimpy Bee, Chill Rob G, DJ Nel E Nel, DJ 007, Prince Kyrie, and Cool Sir Brown, alongside visiting New York artists who frequented the city such as LA Sunshine of the Treacherous Three.
The film doubles as an argument for the city's place in hip-hop history, repeatedly returning to why Chilltown — despite its 1980s prominence — never received the national recognition its pioneers feel it earned.
