Positively Black were a Jersey City conscious-rap group formed in 1988, built around a message of Black consciousness that set them apart from the city's other crews.

The group was led by Prince Kyrie with King N and the DJs Storm and Tyrell, and was managed by Youth Champagne, remembered as one of the city's first female managers and rappers; founding member Salam is remembered by the group, rest in peace.
They recorded for the family-run Trumpet Records before signing to Select Records, sharing a roster era with acts such as Chubb Rock, Kid 'n Play, and UTFO.
