The A-Team were an early-2000s Jersey City rap duo of Ransom and Hitchcock, celebrated for their punchline-heavy, grimy street lyricism.

Managed by Orlando Wharton and affiliated with DJ Clue's Desert Storm, they built a strong underground following through their Hardhood Classics mixtape series and ties to artists such as Joe Budden and Stack Bundles.
After a major-label deal did not materialize the duo split around 2006; Ransom went on to a prolific solo career and Wharton to a landmark executive run.
