Albee Al (born Albert Robinson, 1988) is a rapper and songwriter from Jersey City's Marion Projects, known for gritty, street-level storytelling; his catalog has drawn millions of streams across Apple Music, Spotify, and YouTube.
In the Record§
He carries the stage name of his late father, Lord Sun Albee Al, founder of the pioneering Jersey City crew Sweet Slick and Slide — placing him in a direct line from one of Chilltown's foundational hip-hop families; DJ E Double and DJ Thunderkatt are his cousins.
After being acquitted in 2014 of a 2010 murder charge — for which he had spent roughly four years in jail awaiting trial — he sharply increased his musical output, releasing projects including Everyday June 30th, a tribute to his murdered brother, and Koba (2019), which peaked at No. 6 on the Billboard Heatseekers Albums chart.
He is affiliated with Flatline and Splashlyfe and is credited on DJ Swill B's 'Choppa in the Backseat' (2024); community voices count him among the city's current legends.
He is a son of the late Lord Sun Albee Al, the Sweet Slick and Slide founder whose name he carries, and brother of DJ Thunderkatt and J-Sass, by family account given to this archive in 2026; DJ E Double is his cousin.
