DJ Thurmie Thurm, also known as DJ Thurm, is a battle DJ and pioneer of the original Jersey City, New Jersey hip-hop and house scene, best known for his work in the late 1970s and early 1980s as a founding member of the Jersey City Chiba Crew.

He came up in the Chilltown scene -- Jersey City's nickname -- playing park jams, community centers, and local spots alongside legends including Grand Wizard Capone, Nicky Barnes, and the Sweet, Slick and Sly Crew.

He is featured in the documentary 'Chill Town J.C.', directed by A. Champagne Lloyd, which documents the hip-hop artists who developed their talents in the streets of Jersey City and places him alongside Chill Rob G, Lakim Shabazz, Master Cee, and DJ Wimpy Bee as a city pioneer.

Decades on, he remains a respected figure in Chilltown history, celebrated across East Coast music history circles and documented in community groups and online archives dedicated to Jersey City's founding era.
