Dennis 'Dee Tee' Thomas (February 9, 1951 -- August 7, 2021) was a founding member of Kool & the Gang, one of the group's most distinctive voices and instrumentalists, known for his alto saxophone playing, flute, and his role as the group's on-stage announcer.
