Charles Edward Dixon (December 31, 1898, Jersey City, New Jersey -- December 6, 1940, New York City) was an American jazz banjoist, one of the earliest recorded jazz instrumentalists from Jersey City.

Between 1921 and 1923 he was a member of Johnny Dunn's Original Jazz Hounds, recording for Columbia Records in New York -- among the earliest commercial jazz recordings produced in the country.
He played in local ensembles before joining Sam Wooding's orchestra in 1922, a band that toured internationally and introduced jazz to European audiences.
