Curries Woods

Public housing · 2010s to present

Curries Woods, the public housing complex in the Greenville section of Jersey City, is the home ground named by several of the city's current rappers.

In the Record§

Max YB represents the Curries Woods projects and the Uptop section; De$igner Boyz have roots across Curries Woods, Sal-Laf Courts, Bidwell and Ocean, and Lexington Avenue; PressureOnline, an artist and media figure, also represents Curries Woods.

Built by the Jersey City Housing Authority in 1959 in the southern end of Greenville, bordering Bayonne, the complex was rebuilt under the federal HOPE VI program: six of the original towers were demolished and the development completed in 2005 consists of 204 two-story townhouses and one rehabilitated original 13-story building.
